About the role

Are you an experienced full-stack developer looking to take the lead on complex, high-impact digital solutions?

We’re looking for a Senior System Developer to play a key role in delivering secure, scalable and modern digital services that support the council’s transformation ambitions. You’ll work across the full stack, shaping technical design, leading development standards, and ensuring solutions are robust, maintainable, and aligned to organisational needs.

This is an opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor others, and help modernise our technology stack while working on projects that directly benefit local communities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex full-stack solutions across front-end and back-end technologies
  • Develop modern applications using Angular (v20+), TypeScript and RxJS
  • Build and maintain C# ASP.NET Core RESTful APIs and scalable service-based architectures
  • Deliver secure, high-performing solutions using Entity Framework, LINQ and SQL Server
  • Integrate systems using Azure services, Dataverse and messaging architectures (e.g. Service Bus)
  • Apply best practice in authentication, authorisation, and secure development
  • Provide technical leadership, setting standards and guiding development approaches
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Identify and resolve complex issues, proactively managing risks and dependencies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and the evolution of our digital platforms

About you

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with leadership capability and a proactive mindset.

You’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in a senior full-stack development role, ideally within a Microsoft technology environment
  • Strong hands-on expertise in:
    • Angular, TypeScript and RxJS
    • C# and ASP.NET Core Web APIs
    • Entity Framework and SQL Server
    • Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
    • Experience designing and supporting secure, scalable, integrated systems
    • Knowledge of service-based architecture, dependency injection and modern development practices
    • A track record of working on complex systems and resolving challenging technical problems
