As an Environmental Health Officer (Environmental Protection), you will play a vital role in delivering complex and high-profile environmental protection casework. You will support specialist areas including statutory nuisance, environmental permitting, contaminated land, air quality, and wider environmental health regulation. Whether you are investigating complaints or preparing responses to planning consultations, you will work closely with residents, businesses, partner agencies, and internal teams to resolve complex environmental issues, influence good practice, and protect the health and wellbeing of our communities. Applicants who are not yet professionally registered but expect to achieve registration within the next six months will be considered; in these cases, successful registration will be a condition of any offer. Candidates with substantial relevant experience who meet the required criteria may be considered for appointment at Senior EHO (SEHO) level.
