Grounds Maintenance Team Leader (Make A Difference Team)

Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council are recruiting a horticulturally focussed professional to lead a team in rejuvenating key shrub beds across various wards, as well as in maintaining some of our flagship gardens and green spaces.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys working with people. You will be passionate about delivering excellent work to enhance local environments, and motivated to make Basingstoke a better place for the community.

A key part of your role will be ensuring work targets are achieved, efficiently and effectively. Ideally, we are looking for candidates that can demonstrate the core qualities required to work in a frontline service role.

This supervisory role requires a highly motivated leader that’s demonstrates a good aptitude. It is important you are organised, have good communication skills, and can give direction, whilst having a proactive and flexible approach to work.

Key Requirements

· Demonstrate good communication and customer care skills.

· Ability to understand work information whether given verbally or in writing.

· Able to work safely within guidance and legislation.

· Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.

· Be physically fit and capable of carrying out the often-demanding work tasks.

· A full clean driving licence is essential.

· You will be based at the Wade Road offices and adapt to working from other council premises when required.
