Climate Change Officer

We’re looking for a Climate Change Officer to join our dynamic Climate Change and Sustainability team to support the ongoing successful delivery of our Climate Change and Air Quality Strategy.
The role will be responsible for several areas of monitoring for the team, most notably undertaking vital carbon footprint monitoring, using adopted modelling practices and best practice techniques, as well as other key performance indicators and measures of progress within the Climate Emergency Action Plan.
Additionally, the role will support on developing and delivering projects, including by working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders and maintaining an awareness of national and local policy developments and funding opportunities. Finally, we expect the role to help deliver training and update briefings to staff and other stakeholders.
An ideal candidate will have knowledge of the latest issues and policies around climate change, an ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts, and the technical and analytical experience and acumen to effectively support the work of the team.
This is a permanent role and sits in the Climate Change and Sustainability team. The post is for 37 hours per week full time from Monday to Friday, however, we may consider applications for part-time working. This is a hybrid role with a percentage of time working from home with occasional weekend or evening working.
